...so Happy 97th Birthday to Eddie Albert, aka Carlton Travis (Falcon Crest 1981), Frank McBride (Switch 1975), Larry Tucker (Leave It To Larry 1952) and of course our beloved Oliver Wendell Douglas (Green Acres 1965). Actor, Singer, Inventor, Environmentalist, American Hero at the invasion of Tarawa.

How could you forget he was in "Dr. Suess's The Lorax"? That's when he started in conversation, I believe.
Before that really. He was one of the early advocates for the ban on DDT back in the very ealry 1970s, before The Lorax. I suspect he got the voice job on The Lorax because of it.
This post brought back a flood of memories for the Albert series you mentioned, Switch. Very underrated show, with Robert Wagner, Sharon Gless as the kooky secretary and the one and only Charlie Callas.
And a cameo appearance by Natalie Wood in a bathtub. Switch was a fun show even if, like me at the time, you only knew Eddie Albert from his time on Green Acres and thought of him exclusively as a comedic actor. The man's career shows a versatility that most of today's young actors could only dream of, and that doesn't even mention his works outside of the acting field.
